Death of Tony Scott Ruled a Suicide

Film director Tony Scott, known for his work on action films such as "Top Gun" and "Days of Thunder," died by suicide on Sunday after jumping from a bridge in Los Angeles. He was 68.

Scott left notes in his car and office before jumping to his death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. No foul play is suspected.

Scott, the younger brother of fellow director Ridley Scott, was born in Sunderland, England, in 1944. He began his career in advertising before moving into filmmaking in the 1970s. Scott's films often featured high-octane action sequences and were known for their stylish visuals.

In addition to "Top Gun" and "Days of Thunder," Scott also directed films such as "The Hunger," "Man on Fire," and "Unstoppable." His last film, "The Taking of Pelham 123," was released in 2009.

Scott's death has shocked the film industry and his fans around the world. He will be remembered as one of the most talented and influential action directors of his generation.
